Logic certification approval for Dimplex solar training

12.11.2009
Dimplex

Dimplex is expanding its range of Logic Certification-approved training courses for renewable heating solutions with the addition of a training course for solar thermal water heating. Such sustainable heating solutions can make it easier for buildings to meet the requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations, with or without the proposed revisions:

Now giving full industry recognition, this solar training course also meets the requirements of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, allowing installers to access grants and other funding.

Dimplex has been running renewables training courses for several years, giving hundreds of installers access to this lucrative and rapidly expanding market. Dale Banks, training manager at the company, explained: "Our heat pump training courses have been very popular with installers and feedback from delegates has been extremely positive. These new solar courses give the same industry-wide recognition, together with a thorough understanding of solar thermal technology and its application."

Logic Certification is a UKAS-accredited certification body well recognised in the heating and plumbing industries and the Logic-accredited part of the training lasts two days, covering fluid-filled, indirect solar water heating systems, with a written and practical assessment at the end of the course. An additional day of training on the Dimplex product range allows installers to upgrade to full Dimplex accredited solar installer status.

The three-day course costs £395 for the first member of a company and then £295 for any subsequent staff wishing to attend. However, once an organisation has been accredited, it receives vouchers against future purchases, offsetting the majority of the course fee. Accredited Installer status also provides a number of other scheme benefits including full marketing support, extended warranties and the technical support of an established player in the market.

The solar training course is available at a number of venues all round the UK, all of which have access to Dimplex solar thermal equipment to give installers hands-on experience of the technology.
