Question: I have a problem in that I can't remember how to work out the current for a three-phase system with only the power figures to go on. I need to work out the cable needed for a three-phase system using 80kW on a four-wire cable. So how do I do it? Any help would be gratefully received.
Answer: the calculation is as follows:
Power (kW) = (square root of 3) x (volts) x (amps) x (power factor) divided by 1000
