Quint Power is a slim—just 96 mm in width—power supply from Phoenix Contact with SFB (Selective Fuse Breaking) technology. It is now available for rated currents of 40 A and offers an adjustable output voltage of 18 to 29.5 V DC.

In critical systems and machines where parallel loads are protected separately by circuit breakers, short circuits will trip these circuit breakers and disconnect any faulty circuits from the power supply. For the first time, using SFB technology, this can be realized within a few milliseconds, so that the remaining plant or system is continuously supplied with DC voltage. In addition to the previously available Quint Power units supply voltages of 12, 24, or 48 V DC and rated currents of 3.5, 5, 10, or 20 A, a new three-phase unit is available with 24 V DC/ 40 A and is capable of providing 215 A for 12 ms using SFB technology. This ensures that standard circuit breakers function reliably up to type B25 / C13 so that faulty current paths are disconnected and production systems remain operational.
The Power Boost feature provides 45 A permanently so that loads with high inrush currents can start reliably. Quint Power units also offer function monitoring for remotely diagnosing power supplies and thus preventing malfunctions. By permanently monitoring the output voltage and output current, critical situations can be visualized using LEDs, floating relay contacts, and active signal outputs and then signaled to the control system before a problem actually occurs. With a high efficiency of 94 percent, energy losses are very small and a minimum of heat is generated. Thanks to their wide-range input, comprehensive international approvals and broad temperature range of -25 to +70° C, these power supplies are suitable for industrial applications throughout the world.
