Galliford Try plc the construction and housebuilding group, has been awarded a £54 million contract called Campus 21 by West Kent College to redevelop the college’s Tonbridge campus.
The redevelopment will include the construction of a new performance arts building, a main reception area, a community hub and learning areas.
The redeveloped campus will also boast excellent eco credentials, including a bio mass energy centre and a Sustainable Urban Drainage System. Completion of the whole campus, which will serve the college’s 2,300 full-time students and 12,000 part time students, is expected in 2011. Students and staff will start moving into the new buildings in Spring 2010.
