Question: With reference to the 17th Edition, 411.3.1.2, Peb.(iv) - I have always taken a bonding lead to the main gas pipe to bond.

I see that under this regulation, it is required to take a bonding lead to the central heating - does this mean that, as well as the bonding lead to the gas pipe, I also need to take a bonding lead to the boiler that the gas pipe is feeding? If this is the case, can it be looped from the gas bond?

Answer: If this is a domestic/small installation, the main bonding to the central heating can be omitted if there is continuity to the gas/water main bond. You can loop bonding cables, provided that they are unbroken.
