The contract, worth £37.5m to NG Bailey, will see the company install and commission all the M&E services, working along side its specialist off-site division, Bailey Off-Site, to manufacture 110 prefabricated corridor modules and electrical risers. The company’s specialist ICT arm has also been assigned to provide the structured cabling on the project.
Tim Cunningham, operations director for NG Bailey in London, comments on the win: “This is a substantial project for us and is in fact one of the largest healthcare projects we’ve contracted in London.
“Great Ormond Street Hospital is a world renowned institution and we are proud to have the job on our books. It involves various elements of NG Bailey, demonstrating our breadth of capability in the building services arena.”
NG Bailey is already engaged in the pre-commencement phase and will start delivering the work in February 2010, with a completion date due for November 2011.
Mark Andrews, NG Bailey’s chief executive adds: “We have a proven track record in delivering project work in the healthcare sphere and that coupled with our size and stability in the marketplace stood us in good stead for the win.”
NG Bailey offers a comprehensive range of services to the construction and property industries, including mechanical and electrical and ICT design, prefabrication, installation and commissioning – all with lifetime maintenance.
