Question: In Section 701 (of BS 7671), with respect to showers, there is mention about them having a fixed shower head or water outlet. Are there Zone details, IP details or any other details available for showers without fixed shower heads?

Does the 2.25m height needed to reach the outside of Zones still apply in this situation?

Answer: Section 701 (Locations) containing a bath or shower has been devised assuming that the shower head or water outlet is fixed. If this is not the case, then a measurement would have to be taken from the point at where the shower or water outlet could extend to. If that measurement was extensive, a wet room situation may have to be considered.
