Question: I have two generators feeding unto a busbar via an automatic changeover switch. I want to feed the same busbar with a standby generator. What do I do to detect dead bus before switching the standby source to the board?

Answer: Please confirm the serial number of the assumed existing Eaton equipment in order that we can establish the product type.

Is there any synchronising control? Mechanical interlocking may be required to ensure that the third supply is not in parallel with the existing supplies. Voltage sensing will normally be located on the live side of the incomers.
