Bailey, part of NG Bailey, one of the UK’s largest building services providers, has won a contract worth £6 million to design, supply, install, test and commission all electrical services for two new warehouses, owned by leading UK retailer Next.

Situated in Brookfield’s Park, Rotherham, the two new automated pallet warehouses, covering a total of 900,000 sq ft, will be used by Next for garment storage and distribution when the project is complete.

Bailey has also been charged with the enhanced fit-out of specialist building services in the retailer’s new warehouses, worth a further £1.8 million. This will include the installation of all lighting, mechanical cabling and mains distribution. Bailey Maintenance, the specialist building services maintenance arm of Bailey, will also be utilised to fit all fire alarm accessories.

Combined, the contracts will span an 18 month period, with the initial shell and core work due to be completed in June 2007 and the fit-out in March 2008.

Martin Bailey, managing director at Bailey, comments: “This is a very exciting project and the team at Bailey is delighted to be contracted by Next to carry out the fit-out, in addition to the shell and core work, which was awarded to us by Bowmer & Kirkland.

“The project gives us the opportunity to implement an integrated approach, with both Bailey and Bailey Maintenance being utilised to carry out specific tasks.”

The NG Bailey Group provides the construction industry and its clients with mechanical, electrical, ICT, off-site manufacture, interiors, systems integration and maintenance services. For further information visit www.ngbailey.co.uk
