Question: I am renewing the earth electrode on a TT system and was wondering whether it is acceptable to site it in the property's cellar? There is currently an earth electrode in the cellar (I believe it is part of an osmotic damp proof system) and I assume that this is getting back to earth OK.

Answer: I can see no reason why you should not locate an earth electrode in a cellar. Obviously, you will need to ensure that the earth electrode resistance does not exceed the recommended maximum of 200 ohms for a TT installation.
