Have your say on the East Midlands regional plan

The consultation on the Proposed Changes to the East Midlands Regional Plan which started on 22 July will end at 5.00pm on Friday 17 October. There are therefore only a few days left to submit comments.

The East Midlands Regional Plan is important for everyone in the region as it deals with long term policies to tackle climate change, address housing shortages and strengthen the region's economy.

It is very easy to make comments on-line by going to http://goem-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal or you can request a response form from the Government Office for the East Midlands (Tel: 0115 971 2663 or email: regional-planningem@goem.gsi.gov.uk) which can be returned by email or by post.

There are many changes to the draft Plan, including:

  • A 3.4 per cent increase in housing provision.
  • Increased targets for affordable housing.
  • Retention of the Green Belt around Nottingham.
  • Removal of site-specific references.
  • Restraint on growth in Lincolnshire coastal districts.
  • New pitch requirements for Gypsies and Travellers.

A final version of the Plan will be published following consideration of all views received during the consultation period.
