Question: In terms of the 17th Edition, what cable do I have to use as 100A sub-mains if it is run under floorboards and hidden in the wall (less than 25mm from the surface)? Also, as this is the only supply to the flat, should I put an RCD on this cable? If so, which type (ie: trip current and time delay or not?)
Answer: If you really have to run the cable concealed less than 25mm from the surface of a wall, you should use one of the methods that doesn't require RCD protection, such as a cable with an earthed metallic sheathing, or possibly mechanical protection (at least 3mm thick metal).
