Phoenix Contact’s new analog PSI-MODEM/ETH V.92 Ethernet modem provides worldwide access to industrial Ethernet networks in machinery and installations via dial-up connections.
A connection is established using a remote data transfer connection with 128-bit password encryption and continuous re-authentication via CHAP (Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol), which prevents unauthorized access. Carrying out remote servicing and diagnostic tasks on remote network devices thus becomes as easy as dialing into the Internet from home.
The devices feature high-grade electrical isolation and integrated surge voltage protection, which help to ensure interference-free operation even under severe EMC conditions. Thanks to the integrated automatic “sleep” function to save battery life and the broad power supply range, these modems can be used in a wide range of applications. Plug & Play and Web-based management facilitate fast and simple setup. This Ethernet modem can be operated worldwide on public telephone networks.
