Question: In an installation where old equipment is being replaced with new (say an old T12 luminaire for a new T5), the terminal blocks are unlikely to be in the same location, requiring the wiring to be extended to the new location. What is the best method of doing this - crimps, solder or terminal blocks?
Answer: Any of those methods is acceptable, though care must be taken if the extended cables pass near to the control gear. In such cases, heat resistant sleeving may be necessary.
