Have you ever wondered what the industry's influential figures have on their desk? From go-karting trophies to the world’s smallest handheld laser distance meter, you can tell a lot about a person by their desk. This is why Voltimum's roving reporter, Frankie Snobel, scoped out the desk of Leica Geosystems Managing Director, David Price.

Born and raised in Derby, David started off his career in sales and marketing for Shell UK. Here he sold fuel and oil to the agriculture and industrial industry. David then moved on to work for various dealers in contractor’s plant sales. His bittersweet leap into construction and surveying equipment came about upon being made redundant. This is when he was quickly offered a position as Sales Manager for Topcon, a manufacturer of surveying and medical instruments. In 2001, David joined advanced measuring, mapping and surveying technology manufacturer, Leica Geosystems Ltd. Here he climbed up the corporate ladder from UK Construction Sales Manager, to Europe, Middle East and Africa Construction Sales Manager, to his current (and very recent) position of Leica Geosystems Managing Director.
When David has a chance to break free from his busy work schedule, this self-proclaimed “demon skier” enjoys hitting the slopes, his favourite being Chamonix in France. He’s also a big local footie supporter, holding season tickets for Derby County, which he likes to enjoy with his son.
