Paul Tranter owner of Turner Plumbing Services of Burton-on-Trent has been providing customers in the North Midlands area with service for over 20 years, including emergency repair work, boiler replacement and a range of installation services. Paul has been a long standing user and admirer of Pipeslice, the Kopex copper pipe cutting tool.

“It's extremely easy to use and very fast when cutting copper pipe. I've tried other similar products but they don't perform anything like as well. They fail to engage properly on the pipe and don't have the same speed or quality of cut,” says Paul.

Much of Paul's work involves copper pipe cutting – either replacing punctured pipes or cutting pipe to length when installing new boilers, sinks or baths, – so Pipeslice is used just about everyday. He make full use of 15mm, 22mm and 28mm pipe versions which are lightweight and all cut pipe with a few twists of the wrist.

“They are also ideal for use in restricted spaces such as airing cupboards or loft space,” says Paul.

Until recently Pipeslice was the only Kopex tool he used, but that has now changed with the launch of Pipe-prep, the complementary dual purpose pipe cleaning and deburring tool. It works in a similar way to Pipeslice, with Paul just having to rotate it a few times around the end of cut copper pipe to achieve a burr free pipe end. An integral deoxidation brush removes the oxidised layer from the pipe, getting it quickly ready for any soldering operations.

“Pipe-prep is like nothing else on the market in its efficiency and quality of pipe preparation for soldering. Together both Kopex tools are important as the “grips” in my toolbox – so any plumber will realise how much I value them. They save me time and money and I would not be without them.”
