The Cablofil steel wire cable tray has been installed by electrical and mechanical contractors AMEC in ceiling and service voids in offices as well as throughout the production areas in the new purpose-built facility. It provides containment and protection for mains power, networked data-communications, and a variety of other low voltage cabling and wiring networks, including control, alarm and security systems.
Due for completion later this year, the 50,000 m² Inchinnan facility will replace the existing Rolls-Royce Compressor Systems production plant at nearby Hillington, originally built during World War II. The new hi-tech facility will manufacture specialised components which are used in the majority of the company's gas turbines for civil aerospace, defence, marine and energy applications.
