An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Marine Engineering Designer in Portsmouth.
Reporting to the Chief Engineering Designer the successful candidate will be degree qualified in mechanical or marine engineering and have proven experience in a marine engineering environment.
The candidate will be able to function effectively as part of a multi disciplined team and be competent in systems design, covering some of the following areas:
- Propulsion engines
- Gearing
- Shafting
- Engineering pipework systems
- HVAC
- Corrosion issues
- Shaft vibration analysis
- Noise prediction, measurement and analysis.
Candidates will be competent in selecting and writing specifications for engineering and equipment. Familiarity with ship classification standards is advantageous.
