So when was the last time your business had a Good Day?
SummitSkills, the Sector Skills Council for building services engineering (BSE), has launched a campaign to encourage employers to train and develop their staff.

‘Good Day’ will be SummitSkills’ focus over the coming months, as it uses the phrase to emphasise that a good day in business can only be achieved with the support of a skilled workforce.
The campaign involves a case study booklet that profiles businesses talking about what a good day in business means for them and why they train and develop their staff. Direct mailing will be used to highlight the different types of training that companies can get involved in with endorsements from the profiles companies.
Keith Marshall, chief executive, of SummitSkills commented: “A good day for an employer means winning those contracts, finishing the project on time, and ultimately they need to ask: do they have the skilled staff in place to achieve this?. SummitSkills wants to help employers realise the importance of training, to help them become productive and profitable.”
In addition to targeting businesses, the brand is also being used to promote the sector to school and college leavers, selling building services engineering as a career option that will give people a ‘Good Day’ at work. To support the careers promotion activity, a range of materials have been produced, including a careers DVD, case studies and interactive game.
