Modern LED technology –extremely efficient and effective

Whereas an ordinary light bulb has a filament that is heated until it glows, an LED produces light by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material. This results in light of a particular wavelength (known as monochromatic light), which is why LEDs are particularly efficient at producing colours. LEDs have distinct advantages when used for decorative accent lighting:

  • Efficient generation of coloured light emitted directly as coloured light
  • Low energy consumption with powerful effects
  • Long life Virtually no wear and tear on components
  • Low maintenance costs thanks to low energy consumption and long life
  • Very low thermal output
  • High resistance to jolts and vibrations as there are no sensitive parts
  • Enhanced safety with simple designs thanks to double insulation

A colourful future – with DECOSPOT® LED

Homes, offices and shops can be given a fresh new look with dashes of colour from elegant and modern DECOSPOT® LED fixtures. There is a choice of white, red, green and blue. Walls and objects take on completely different looks depending on the colours chosen. For special effects, use DECOSPOT® LED colour changing, which automatically changes from one colour to the next.

Learn More with OSRAM at the ELEX 2008 LED Training Course

Learn more about LEDs and get a better insight with OSRAM’s LED training course held at ELEX 2008 at three remaining venues, Glasgow, Coventry and Sandown Park.

The practical aspect of the course includes step-by-step demonstrations, which cover where and how LEDs are installed.  The theoretical sections explain why LEDs are becoming increasingly popular and how the market is likely to develop in the future.  The technology’s benefits will also be discussed in detail, with a specific focus on energy efficiency and creative mood lighting.

In addition you will receive a CPD certificate to the value of 3 hours and a high quality OSRAM High Flux LED SYSTEM.
