EEIBA and the credit crunch

2008-06-03
EEIBA

The recent credit crunch affects the lives of everyone in the UK, but never more so than for those on low or fixed incomes. Visits to the fuel pumps and to the supermarket are costing more than even a few months ago and making ends meet is an increasing struggle, which is hitting families and the elderly.

Our industry charity provides a support network for those in need and this year is facing more enquiries and applications for assistance than ever before.

This is why EEIBA is gearing itself up, to find the best solutions for people connected with our industry that find it difficult to cope and who are looking to EEIBA for help and support.

EEIBA’s team of Regional Welfare Officers and volunteer visitors are trained to do all that they can to access State benefits and allowances and to use its network of other charitable and voluntary organisations to help beat the credit crunch and make life easier for everyone concerned.

Our industry charity does not receive any State funding or help, but relies solely on donations, contributions and the support of fund-raising functions and events to provide the resources to meet the needs of colleagues and pensioners who face hard and difficult times.

· it is estimated by charity research that some 11.6 million people in the UK are living on low incomes

· EEIBA is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission No: 1012131 and in Scotland No: SCO38811
