PHOENIX CONTACT's new FL WST Wireless Simulation Tool enables cost and time savings when installing wireless systems in industrial environments.
PHOENIX CONTACT's new FL WST Wireless Simulation Tool makes it easy to determine the number of wireless devices and their optimum siting within an industrial building to ensure reliable wireless coverage. This saves time and costs during installation and calibration of the system.
The software provides users a quick graphical overview of the distribution of wireless devices overlaid onto a view of a building or industrial site. To enable this, walls, machines, and access points are called up from a library and positioned onto a plan, which can be created or imported as a JPEG for example taken from a scan of the building's plans.
The subsequent simulation provides a clear, color-coded overview of the quality of the wireless coverage. This can be optimized by moving the devices on the graphical interface, which makes it possible to simulate and plan installations for the Bluetooth and WLAN (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) standards quickly and reliably.
