Question: I have read about short circuit making and breaking capacities, but I'm confused about exactly how it works, and what the technical issues are behind it. For example, what exactly does 'making' mean? Is it like closing the breaker when there is a short circuit current in the circuit, or is it something else?
Answer: Please find attached a document that explains the differences between the various making and breaking capacities associated with our low voltage distribution equipment.
