Cabling, whether electrical or communications needs proper protection,
organisation and containment. Standards, such as EN 50174, call for correct
cable containment but do not lay down specific requirements, only suggest
suitable methods such as cable tray, conduit, cable basket etc. Also correct
earthing, grounding and bonding and separation of power and data cables are
essential for the safe and correct operation of all information technology systems.
The various British, American, CENELEC, ISO, ITU and IEC standards are
considered in this seminar and cost effective solutions considered.
