Hager has entered the switchboard market and has supplied its first project - a Novatel Hotel in London. The Form 4, floor-standing switchboards from Hager are rated at up to 4000A and have a modular construction for flexibility and high technical performance.

The new 180-bedroom Novatel hotel in Southwark had a fast build programme to open before Christmas 2002. For the electrical installation they specified that one supplier provide circuit protection and simple control from the mains switchboard through to individual consumer units for each of the bedrooms.

The main switchboard supplied by Hager is Form 4 type 2 and has a 1000A incomer. It feeds two special composite panelboards one in the kitchen and one in the plant room, a reception area board and two TP&N boards on each of the six floors.

Comments Hager product marketing manager Paul Martin: “We are increasingly finding that larger commercial projects want a complete installation solution from mains switchboard right through the sub distribution from one source. By entering the switchboard market we are now one of the few manufacturers who have such a complete capability.”
