Electronic

Electronic

Electronic panel heaters incorporate highly accurate electronic thermostatswith faster cycling rates than gas filled alternatives. This allows room temperatures to be controlled more accurately, illuminating temperature drift.

Electronic panel heaters also have the ability to be controlled remotely by central programming devices.

Bathroom

The Dimplex Apollo range is a radiant heater with the added benefit of two towel rails for drying towels.

Convector

Convectors (EPX range) are designed to heat rooms quickly. Cool air is drawn through the inlet grille at the base of the heater, heated by the element(s) and released through the grille at the top of the heater by means of natural convection.

Convectors are the most popular type of panel heater.

Radiant

Radiant heaters (RPXN Range) provides a higher degree of radiant heat to warm physical objects rather than the air. This results in a more comfortable form of heating.

Radiator

Radiators (Calidou Range) feature a combination of both radiant and convected heat to provide superior comfort.

Skirting

Skirting heaters (EVS Range) are convector heaters with a lower profile to fit in places where wall height is at a premium e.g conservatories.

Controls

Thermostat delay timers

The PX01001 touch pad thermostat delay timer features adjustable comfort, setback (background) and timer settings. The settings can only be set  upon installation and cannot be adjusted by the user. The principle is to provide background heating when the room is unoccupied and comfort heat when the room is occupied. Upon entering the room the user will press the button on the PX01001 to raise the room temperature, after a set period of time the PX01001 will revert back to the setback (background) setting.

The PX9700 and PX9900 PIR thermostat delay timer incorporates the same features as the PX01001 but is switched by a passive infra-red detector, which automatically detects room occupancy.

Key card and key fob switches

The KX03001 Key card switch and KX03003 key fob switch can be used in conjunction with the Dimplex PLX (on/off only), EVX/EVS, Calidou and Apollo panel heaters.

Both the KX03001 and KX03003 can be used to either switch heaters on and off or control comfort and setback (background) temperatures through a pilot wire. A second 20 amp rated connector allows another device to be switched such as lighting, which is particularly suitable for Hotels etc.

Pilot wire

Pilot wire is a system designed to allow control of Dimplex panel heaters from a single point. Each heater includes a mains cable with a fourth black wire which can be connected to heaters in a system in series. Central control programmers use the pilot wire to conducts a 240V, low current signal to each heater to change the heater mode (e.g. comfort, background). Only one programmer is required for up to 20 heaters on the same electrical circuit. Pilot wire is best suited to new build applications.

MBS (Mains Borne Signalling)

MBS uses standard live, earth and neutral wiring to carry a signal to each heater. Each heater has a master programmer and each subsequent heater requires a receiver to receive the signal from the programmer unit. MBS is ideal for refurbishments (i.e. where it is not possible to install pilot wire).
